Charity Events

The team at Brooks endeavour to work with charity organisations on an ongoing basis in an effort to help those less fortunate. Each year we partner with a different charity and work closely with that organisation by supporting them and participating with them in their fundraising and raising awareness ventures.
We are delighted to be working closely with the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland as our partner charity for 2016.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their carers.
We have been busy over the last 6 months getting together to make a difference with ASI and other affiliate charities.Here is an insight into of some of the events we have hosted and participated in recently;

VHI Women’s Mini Marathon : June 2016 - In association with ASI

This is an annual Charity walk / run that occurs in Dublin every June Bank holiday Monday.  With nearly 40,000 participants , it is the biggest single daytime charity event in Ireland and the biggest all female event of its kind in the world.  It is a wonderful fun event and all the money raised goes to a number of different charities.

On June 6th we hosted a post marathon reception for our friends from Alzheimer's Society of Ireland and their particpants after the race.
A great day of fun was had by all and we look forward to getting involved again in 2017.

ASI National Tea Day : May 2016

Tea Day is a national day of celebration and fundraising that honours people affected by Alzheimer's and Dementia. Each year, thousands of generous people gather together. They drink tea, eat cake and sandwiches, take part in raffles, quizzes and games... and crucially, raise urgent funds for local Alzheimer services.
On Thursday 5th May we were delighted to host ASI’s National Tea Day at Brooks.
Members of ASI, local TD’s and other friends of the wonderful organisation joined us for tea, coffee and treats in out Café Lounge as awareness was being raised all around the country for ASI in various venues.
Well done to all our friends at ASI for the hard work they do on an ongoing basis.

Darkness into Light : May 2016 - In association with Pieta House

Darkness into light is the flagship fundraising and awareness event for Pieta House, it involves hundreds of thousands of people gathering at various locations throughout the country to either walk or run a 5km track.
This year once again we were delighted to join our friends at Peta House for this very special event. Our head chef Pat McLarnon and his team prepared some delicious treats for the participants to enjoy when they crossed the finish line.
Well done to all involved.

Sing for Simon : Dec 2015 - In association with Dublin Simon Community

Each year ‘Sing for Simon’ brings together over 100 groups and choirs who sing Christmas carols and songs in numerous shopping centres and across Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow.
Thanks to the generosity and goodwill of their supporters it has grown into an annual fundraising campaign with the 24-Hour Carolathon on Grafton Street; plus many other carolling locations in the lead up to Christmas.
Each year the team at Brooks visit the Dublin Simon Community volunteer singers with Tea, Coffee and tasty homemade treats during their singing marathon.
