Our team at Brooks Hotel is committed to ensuring our environmental responsibility. We are working across all areas of the hotel to reduce waste, reuse items where possible and encourage recycling. We aim to monitor and record our environmental impact on a regular basis to improve our efforts and achieve our targets.

Our Achievements

We take pride in our environmental achievements:

We have significantly reduced landfill waste through “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” initiatives.
In 2025, we installed aerators on all water applicances in our guest bedrooms
In 2025, energy saver devices were installed in all guest bedrooms minimising the waste of electrical consumption
In 2025, Energy-efficient LED light bulbs have been installed throughout the hotel.
In 2025, we introduced our new residential amenities to our guests. Partnering with the Dublin Herbalist Co. we now offer products that are natural, and never, ever tested on animals. That means no parabens, sodium lauryl sulphate or other hidden ingredients.
In 2025, during the tender process we adopted a stringent approach to source locally and support Irish suppliers. Our beds, bedding, furniture & towelling are all 100% Irish made and manufactured.
Our team receives regular training on eco-friendly practices, with educational materials readily available.
We have eliminated single-use plastics in our Food & Beverage Departments, opting for reusable bowls and pots.
All our straws, stirrers, takeaway cups, and lids are fully biodegradable.
We prioritize emailing to minimize paper use, including an environmental note in all email signatures.
Brooks Hotel has earned the Eco-Label from GreenHospitality.ie.
We actively support local charities and participate in community initiatives such as tree planting, beach cleans, and awareness campaigns.

Our Goals

By December 2025, we aim to:

Maintain the Eco-Label awarded by GreenHospitality.ie.
Obtain Gold accreditation from Green Tourism.
Reduce our landfill waste by an additional 5%.
Decrease our energy consumption by 3%.
Increase sourcing from local producers.
Expand our community activities, including tree planting and beach clean-ups.

We educate our team on their role in reducing waste and promote environmental consciousness through:

Adopting reduce, reuse, and recycle policies.
Encouraging public transport use.
Promoting water conservation and energy-saving practices.
Reducing chemical use where possible.

Our Location

Situated in the heart of Dublin’s City Centre, we are close to major transport links:

Bus routes are just a 5-minute walk away.
Two Dublin Bike stations are within a 2-minute walk.
Tara Street Train Station is an 11-minute walk.
The nearest Luas line is a 5-minute walk.
We promote the Dublin Bikes Scheme and local walking tours to guests.
We encourage shopping at local boutiques on Drury Street and supporting individually owned shops.

Transport

For easy airport access, take the Aircoach, operating 24 hours a day to Trinity College, just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Return tickets can be purchased online or on the bus for €12, with single tickets available for €7.

We proudly support local charities in Dublin City. Each year, we partner with a charity, offering support through shared activities, publicity, and donations. Past partners include Pieta House, The Simon Community, The Alzheimer Society, and Barretstown.
